"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Mark 10:14
The preschool Ministry at Immanuel is dedicated to providing quality Christian education for children from birth through kindergarten.
Our directors and teachers use every opportunity to teach preschoolers and to meet the need of each child emotionally, mentally, physically,
socially and spiritually. To accomplish this important task, the Preschool Ministry offers a variety of learning activities such as: art, blocks,
books, pictures, home-living, music, nature and puzzles. Each week Preschoolers are involved in Bible study, mission activities, choir and other special events.
It is our belief that attitudes and concepts about church are formed early in life. Therefore each time preschool children are at church we want him/her to have
a positive and enjoyable experience. Loving, committed teachers seek to show God's love as they teach and care for each child.
Children
SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:45 - 10:45 Sunday Mornings
Sunday School classes for children are for every child grades 1-6, and help children grow in a deeper understanding of the Bible and their relationship to God and others. Dedicated teachers spend time getting to know the children and ministering to their families. Literature is especially designed to meet the specific needs of children and help them apply what they learn to their real life situations.
WORSHIP SERVICE 11:00 - 12:OO noon SundaysAs they sit with their families, children learn how important it is to worship God through music, read God's Word and listen to what God has to say to them through the sermon. Each Sunday there is also a special "children's sermon" where the children gather together to hear a Bible story that is on "their level."

Royal Ambassadors (RA's) for the boys and Girls in Action (GA's) for the girls in grades 1 - 6 is where our children learn about and pray for missionaries. Here not only do they learn stories, they also learn how to be a missionary. In their studies they "travel" to many different countries throughout the world and learn about different cultures and customs. The boys have opportunities to earn patches as they work toward different goals. Girls are involved in "hands-on" ministry projects throughout the year.
RETREATS AND EXCITING EVENTSThroughout the year our children have "field trips," "fun days", "Lock-ins", and seasonal parties. We plan these throughout the year in order to enhance the fellowship between the children and the many adults who care about them and teach them Biblical Truths.
THE IMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH FAMILYWe care about the children of today and provide support and encouragement to the children and their families through all of their ministries. If we don't teach our children about the love of God and Jesus' payment for sin, who will? We take our responsibility very seriously! There are many different programs available for all ages, from birth to senior adults. We encourage all ages to grow in their relationship with Christ and their fellow man.
Youth
The youth program’s role is one of complimenting and supporting the roles of parents and the church.Parents
We believe the Biblical pattern is for the parents to be the primary source of spiritual instruction for their children. Church
- Worship
- Instruction
- Fellowship
- Prayer
- Evangelism
This ministry provides young people with a broad-based program which is:
- Christ-centered
- People-oriented
- Targeted to the needs of youth
Our Youth Ministry provides a unique combination of discipleship, fun, caring, encouragement, and accountability,
with opportunities to serve. The focus of our youth program is Christ-centered. Recognizing that responsible Christian action
can only be expected after responsible Christian commitment.
It is people-oriented rather than program oriented, recognizing the importance of
meeting the needs of the specific individual. While not the primary responsibility of the youth program to provide
instruction, it is the program’s responsibility to provide the right environment for overall
physical and spiritual growth and development.
Ministry Opportunities
This is our summer mission trip to various locations. Each trip varies in length and type of service, but all provide intense missions education, often bringing about life-changing results. Whether we are teaching children in Vacation Bible School at a Myrtle Beach Campground, building houses Mission Fuge or in Bible Study at Centrifuge we are building our Youth to be the Christian leaders of tomorrow and today!
MinistryWe want to encourage the students to take ownership and responsibility for their own ministry. There are areas of service in which we want the students to be involved including: Visitation, publicity, praise teams, socials, games-skits, youth choir just to name a few.
Miscellaneous:Throughout the year, opportunities come up for ministry in many areas, both inside and outside the church. Many students are encouraged to take advantage of the time summer provides for ministry.

Single Adult
Welcome to an exciting new ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church! What a wonderful area of ministry for God to use in changing the world around us! As we try to make an impact on society, we can not over look the very next leaders of our world. College and Career adults are the people we are training to take control of our state, nation, world and universe. Why would we let the enemy (Satan) have a major impact on their lives and the church ignore them! Don't be surprised when you come to Immanuel and see a group of College and Career aged guys and gals leading the music portion of our Wednesday night prayer service, or they may be playing and singing the "special" music during our Sunday Worship Service. The late teens and early 20's is not a time for spiritual wandering. This is a time when Christian growth needs to spring forward. Our Sunday School has a class especially designed and taught for the College and Career.
Senior Adult
This area of ministry provides an opportunity for fellowship and spiritual growth, a spiritual enrichment through Bible Study, Prayer and Fun! Whether you join with the men who meet every morning at 6:00 am to pray or enjoy the monthly meeting of our Sunshine Club the first Tuesday morning, of each month at 11:00 am, we have an opening for you to join us. The Sunshine Club is a group of over 100 men and women who meet the first Tuesday of each month, to listen to an interesting speaker on timely subjects that will effect your life. Whether you are interested in Jim Duncan telling you about how he reaches all of the weather reports, or you need the flu shot for the winter months, the Sunshine Club is for you. Monthly trips for the Sunshine club may include events as small as lunch at the Virginia Diner or a 4 night stay at Myrtle Beach. Sounds very interesting doesn't it? We also minister to our senior adults through our homebound ministry. Whether we bring you your Sunday School lesson, the ordinance of the Lord's Supper or a video of our last Easter musical, Children's musical, Youth drama or regular worship service, we are here to meet your spiritual needs. The homebound are not forgotten at Immanuel Baptist Church!
Music
We at Immanuel are proud of our Music Ministry! We have a wide range of Ministry that is inclusive to everyone interested in Music. Being blessed with wonderful musicians and accompanist, such as Susan Preston and Joyce Simmons, Immanuel's music ministry is a wonderful part of Immanuel Baptist Church If you are looking for an Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, Youth Choir, Children's Choir or Instrumental Ensemble, we have a place for you.
Adult Choir:The Adult Choir ranges from ages 16 to 100 (although we do not have any 100 year old persons in the choir at the present time). The Adult Choir's responsibility includes singing in the Morning Worship service and most Evening Worship Services, leading the congregation in singing praises during the worship services, and at least two musicals per year (usually Christmas and Easter). The anthems range from contemporary, traditional, southern gospel to classical with accompaniment being piano, organ and usually instrumental ensemble. All four parts, soprano, alto, tenor and bass are sung. Auditions are not required and the choir members are all volunteers. Come join the happiest members at Immanuel.
Handbell Choir:
Truly the ding-a-ling's of Immanuel Baptist Church. We have a 3 octave set of Handbells. The Handbell choir tries to play once a month during the regular morning worship service. A wide variety of music is also played in the Handbell choir. Come be a part of the 12 "dingiest" people at Immanuel. Join the Handbell Choir of Immanuel.
Instrumental Ensemble:
If you play a musical instrument we have a place for you in the Instrumental Ensemble. Starting off with only a piano, bass, drums and guitar, the Instrumental Ensemble has grown to include a flute, clarinet, violins, cello, 2 trumpets, and a baritone. We also have guest instrumentalist on the oboe, trombone, and French horn join us when we accompany the adult choir in musicals. If you play an instrument and are interested in joining a group that has a great deal of fun playing music that exalts our God, you need to join us on Sunday evenings at 4:45 pm!
OutreachTo become a part of the Immanuel Baptist Church Family. As a candidate for baptism: The Bible teaches that we become Christians by confessing our sins and placing our trust in Jesus (1 John 1:9). When you ask for forgiveness and salvation, knowing you are a sinner, you become a Christian (Romans 10:13). After you confess Jesus as your Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-10), confess and respond to the pastor's invitation, you will receive instructions about the meaning of church membership and will be baptized by immersion (Acts 2:40-41). As a member of another Baptist Church: Every Christian should belong to a church close to his/her home so he or she may be able to participate in worship, Bible study and Discipleship Training. If your membership is in a church of similar faith and practice in another city or community, we invite you to become a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church family. At the invitation, come forward and tell our pastor that you would like to unite with Immanuel's family. As a member from another denomination: It is not our purpose to draw members away from another denomination. If you have a desire to unite with our family, we will welcome you with open arms. We believe baptism should be by immersion and for believers only. People joining our church from another denomination with different beliefs and practices will be received as candidates for baptism on the basis of their Christian experience. As a Baptist upon you statement of faith and baptism: Perhaps you were once a Baptist baptized upon you profession of faith in Jesus Christ, but you have lost you affiliation with a Baptist Church. Your statement of conversion and baptism will be sufficient. Come forward at our pastor's invitation, and join the family of Immanuel Baptist Church! Immanuel believes in Evangelism: We believe that God expects all Christians to share their faith in Jesus Christ. The Pastors are responsible to "evangelize," but so is every other Christian!
